Prisons One reason they are full
Why do the Government spend countless dollars on trying to destroy gangs in our streets only to allow them in prison? Why do the Government spend countless dollars on trying to stop narcotics in our neighborhoods only to allow them in prison? Why do the Government spend countless dollars on trying to stop crime in our neighborhoods only to allow it in prison? Am I the only one seeing this or am I totally wrong? Scenario: Lets take one example, A person not being able to find work or having a meaningless low paying job is finding it hard to pay rent, utility bills, buying a TV, furniture and not having money to go out and have fun every weekend. So this person along with other people in the same predicament begin to have a conversation something like this: Lets rob a liquor store or other business. They carry thousands of dollars. My friend robed 22 stores before he got caught and was living like a king. (Question asked) Yes, but where is your friend now? (Answer) He is doing 7 years in the State Prison. His defense lawyer was paid for by the Government and although he was acquitted for 21 accounts he was found guilty on 1. He is now in a gang called the ###### and is protected by them. He has only to run dope now but may be asked to kill someone to prove himself. When he gets out he will join the same gang outside with great status. He gets all the dope he wants, He has the run of the prison, three square meals a day, better food than he ate outside he says. They have TV and they all watch a movie every Tuesday night. His cloths are paid for and so is his laundry. All the toiletries he needs are also included. He also says the prisons have the best exercise equipment he ever seen. He says with the experience he will be getting in prison, he will learn the best ways to get fast and bigger money when he gets out. He told me there is a guy in there who is head of the ##### gang doing two life sentences and this guy ordered a hit on this other guys family out side of prison. Get this!, the Government spent millions of dollars to prove he ordered the hit and when they did, they gave him another life sentence. What a joke, as if this guy cared. He will do it again I'm sure, what does he have to loose, nothing at all. Sad, but this scenario is so familiar as many are. I think there should be only one life sentence after that the death penalty ( see Death Penally) Now there is an incentive to behave not to mention lowering the prison population. How is it the visitors coming to the prison are searched so carefully and yet the narcotic still arrive in prison? Does crooked prison authorities come to mind? How to stop this! I have a solution: Explain to the top prison official that if the narcotics do not drop by 50% the first year, another 25% the second year and by the end of the third year 0 tolerance he or she will loose their job. Then tell them to tell each person below them the same deal right down to the prison guards. (hold it I'm not finished you always have to have an incentive) If anyone related to this corruption looses their jobs it will be public news that they were involved in corruption of their duties and they will never get another job in any related field of this work again. With that said, they will think long and hard about the repercussions from this. They will loose their families and their existing life style Prison should set up a recycling program to recycle things like computers for one example. Monies made from this should then be put to wards and lower the prisons budget. You say the prisoners will obtain sharp instruments? metal detectors and.....(see one life sentence only) Prisoners should be made to work and work hard with little salaries. Gym equipment, TV, and other recreations should be abolished. Their incentive to get out of this hell hole soon. Make prisons a place no one wants to go to. how ironic. it's sad, but i've read statistics showing that for every excon who is rehabilitated, there is another excon who will continue to commit crimes once they are out.

No wonder other countries don't want us to influence their country and instead wage war or build boarders....USA has more prisons than any other country in the world... USA has more prisoners than any other country in the world...USA prisons allow more tolerance from their prisoners than any country in the world...Yes we have many gifts to offer other countries but they come with a price...crime and corruption.
