As we all know, the US has been in a war with drugs for a very long time. The US have probably spent over 60 billion dollars on a campaign to end drug abuse and it is still continuing today.
Drug abuse have created a delay in national improvement and stunted the education in a lot of our children. However, abusing drugs is just like abusing alcohol. If you do it in moderate amounts, then it should not be a harm to you or anyone else for that matter. But the government is still fighting drugs. The most twisted part could be the government selling drugs to keep the stimulating the economy. What are your stances on legalizing drugs? If not all of them, how about some of them? |

There has to be a limit of what can be legalized and what cannot be !!!
Just because we are spending great amount of sum in limiting its spread does not make it justifiable for approving the same. Drugs have been lethal and will always stay that way. Our youth needs to be protected from such monster. Regards, Right |

Well, certain drugs like marijuana are mildly harmful and are a waste of money to try and stop
No matter what you do, people will still do it, so the money could be better spent . But other drugs that are more damaging should certainly be regulated. |

I think that theres a huge difference between the drugs that there are. Do you know how many people smoke marijuana in the United States? It seems almost stupid for it still to be illegal. Lex is right, its a huge waste of time and money to try and stop the marijuana users in the Country. Other more harmful drugs such as cocain, herion, ecstacy, meth, etc. All need to be widely cracked down on and put to an end.

There is no point legalising the drugs instead special laws should be made in order to regulate the drugs usage.Special laws should be in order to check drug abuse.People should be made aware of the damages cost by drugs usage.

I guess I can agree with marijuana, because in the end it is no more harmful then cigarettes and alcohol, and just as a addicted in people who have that gene. However, nothing else. Look at the problems we have had with legal drugs, narcotics like Percoset and Lortab. Legal prescription abuse has ruined millions of lives, and is one of the most quickly rising epidemics in our country. My own mother began on pills, and then moved on to harder drugs, eventually heroine, and she has lost everything.
This is a dangerous road to take. Hard drugs are dangerous for more reasons then addiction, and making them more accessible would not help a damn thing. Yes, it might stop some of the illegal activities associated with it, but look at some of the countries that have made drugs more accessible, more legal...do they look like they are doing OK to you? |
