50 Million immigrants what to do!
I am sure this problem came up once or twice for you and I am sure you always try to make your decisions based on Americans best interest. However, this has got to be a head ache for you. You know the answer but trying to convince the people, well thats another matter. It is going to be a hard sale to make. How to sell the American people on the fact it is in their best interest to give most of these 50 million immigrants visas to work in the United States. On top of that you have to give them these visas very quickly and at little or no cost to them. Who will cry out in defiance, everyone ( except immigrants) including people who has gone through the process, who is presently going thought the process and me, a Canadian. I have been working on my visa going on 6 years and it has cost me over $17,000 in total expenses. How will you ever explain your decision? Well you can start off by telling the taxpayers how much taxable income will be generated by allowing these visas to the immigrants. You can tell them a new department of Homeland Security and related staff to implement this program will come into effect creating new jobs. You can tell them the crime rate and drug dealings will drop to a level not seen for quite some time. Many immigrants will refuse to "mule" drugs or do violent crimes in fear of being sent back to their country and loosing the chance of ever living in America. They will have to stay clean on their temporary visas. You can tell them not all immigrants with criminal records will be allowed visas. Past violent behavior, gang members and drug trafficking related crimes will be looked upon as reasons not allowing visas. Lighter criminal charges like petty theft to feed their families, car theft and others will require a visa stamped for 1 year only to tell them they have to give notice if moving from the address they gave or to another state. After 1 year and no convictions they can apply for a 5 year visa. You can tell them their visas can be revoked at any time during a term of lets say 10 years and they will be sent back to their country and not permitted to apply for a visa again. You can tell them these immigrants, after working and receiving a income over the period of 5 years they will have to pay a reasonable modest amount to help pay for their prior visa as well as another 5 year visa. You can tell them the USA will allow their families to come over to stay with them in America. However, conditions must be meet in order for them to stay. Conditions such as perhaps if a family member is involved in a criminal drug trafficking or violent act that family member will be deported back to their country and may reapply after 10 years. I am sure a compromise can be reached between the President of their country and President Obama. This compromise could say we will accept his people of whom are looking for a home and employment in the USA and help relieve the mounting pressures of poverty due to unemployment in their country. In exchange we can ask that those not selected to have visas and are sent back to his country are to stay there in his country. We can ask that he make every effort to do as requested and for those immigrants who were sent back and continue try crossing the boarder are to be held in his country's jail for a period he deems acceptable in deterring this practice. For those who are now employing immigrant services through labor and wishing this not come about for reasons such as now having to pay them a acceptable decent salary and/or treating them as more that cheap servant's, we can say to them...tuff, get used to it. It may not seem it at the time but the American people will gain a great deal from this. It will also tell people the UNited States of America is a country where a person can live, work and be protected in. |

Actually, this is really a big problem especially the illegal immigrants. citizens and legal immigrants staying in the US are all tired of paying taxes hoping the government could give or somewhat return something from the taxes they paid. For example more healthcare services, housing and others. but with these illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes, they still acknowledge and get the government support and help which the real taxpayers should be the one getting it first.
