While everyone is entitled to their own beliefs I do not believe that public schools should be forced to take prayer out of schools. I think that those who share a different belief or who wish to not participate should be excused. Prayer has been held in many schools for generations and for it to suddenly be taken out is ridiculous.
Why I do feel as though it should be allowed? For the simple fact that prayer has been taken out of schools due to the majority of people that have complained or protested that it was against their religion... Okay fine you feel that way so others should suffer? Give and take is a part that our country seems to be lacking. |

I fully agree. To prohibit anybody to express others' faith is contrary to the very foundation of the right to choose one's religion. I don't think it is the intention of our Constitution to prohibit any form of religious expression on the public.
This is a getting to be a world upside down. While I believe (and will always be) of great tolerance to others' point of views especially on religious matter, I could never accept that some groups are doing everything they could to stop the faith expression of other people. Why! Nobody is stopping them to express theirs! Freedom of religion does not mean no expression at all. As we are entering into the age of modern reasoning, some forces are using their power to stump on others. We are all equal. We are all free. We are all Americans. |

Religion shouldn't be something that is forced upon others it should be open for debate and questioning as that is the best way to learn about it if someone were to want to accept it. Forcing something unwillingly upon an individual works extremely negatively. I do believe in educating children on religion however as it sets decent morals and principles to live by.

Well if such a thing is implemented, it should be done in a way that it does not force non-religious students to feel left out or forced to do the same. But yes, students who do want to pray should be able to do so. Perhaps a designated time after the national anthem would be a good time to let them pray if they wish to do so.

Well as I said we are taking prayer out of school to please those who don't want to participate or complain but on the other hand what about those who value this time of day or its a part of their life.
It should be compromised. The ones who want to should be allowed and others who choose not to be apart of it can choose not to. |
