Well it's official in my state. Marijuana has been legalized for medicinal use only...which means there will many people abusing this. I do not think marijuana should have been legalized, and that's because a good chunk of people who are under the influence of this drug make poor decisions. These poor decisions could drastically effect someone's life for ever, such as deciding to drive under the influence of marijuana. Next thing you know, someone is paralyzed for the rest of their life in a wheel chair from a spinal injury caused by a car accident because someone was using marijuana.
What I'm trying to say is, this will only promote further usage among teens and that is one of the last things this country needs. More teenagers giving up their lives and dreams just to sit around and smoke each day away. |

Well, actually I beg to differ. They say that since they introduced coffee shops in Holland, drug use actually went down, especially with regard to stronger drugs. Many people have illusions that if they legalize marijuana, everybody will suddenly become a junkie. This is totally not true.
In Holland, for example, you can only smoke in the coffee shops, where underage kids can't enter. You can also smoke at home and possess only a small quantity. I don't know how it would work in the states, but in Holland it apparently worked pretty well. Not to mention the increased tourism it brought. |

Do you know that a harmless marijuana smoker in the U.S. is not able to get an organ transplant ? I had to watch a friend die of liver failure because he smoked pot to make himself feel a little better while he was dying, waiting on a transplant. He came up positive on a drug screen and was refused the transplant. Very very hard core, I thought.
