Default Should the age to vote be reduced to 16?

As far as I can see, there was so much energy inspired into the youth by Obama in this election. It was brought to my attention that many young people who were underage but still passionate about the election were very frustrated they could not vote. I personally feel that the age of 18 is a fine requirement for people to vote.

I feel that 18 is young enough to vote, seeing how it could easily be 21 instead. I believe the reason that it is 18 in the first place is because many young soldiers who were around 18 thought "If I can die for my country in war then I should be able to vote for the person sending me to my death".

Most teenagers below 18 are politically impressionable and need some time to develop insight. What to do about those that never develop insight?

No. I don't think that teenagers at 16 have the experience or capabilities to make an informed decision about an issue so important on a national scale. I do, however, think that at 16 politics should become a more discussed issue in school, and debates should be mandatory for certain classes, to prepare them to make those decisions.

I agree IF 16 years old teenager have an abalities to make a right choice...
but corcerning on the reality of teenagers nowadays, I don't think they can..
nevertheless, they should be culturalized on politics world so that they can be more familiar and well revelation.

D-Yes read your post carefully. It is proof positive that some people should never be able to vote. If you were (cough) educated in the US you have an airtight law suit against the LIB indoctrination center where you went to school for lack of performance.
Have a nice day.

Default Watch it there, Puff

How like a coward to choose such an easy target to spew some anti-liberal venom. It is clear from the previous post that English, for the previous poster, is a second language. Now, I know you were raised in this country, but unless you'd like me to start adding my grammatical corrections to your posts, you should stop bullying people whose English is not as good as yours. At least this person has a second language and is interested enough in American politics to be a part of the forum. Ta ta, oh Venomous One.

By the way, where did you go to college....or did you? Sometimes people who eschew and deride higher education are those who couldn't cut it.
