I do not believe children should be forced to wear uniforms but I do believe there should be stricter guidelines. In many areas you will see 13 year old girls wearing skirts that barely cover their body or tiny tops with no bras. Or you will see boys that wear their pants hanging off of their waist bearing areas that shouldn't be shown.
I personally would never allow my 14 year old daughter to wear clothing that I myself would not wear. Especially to school. While I think its great that children have the freedom to dress with their own style a bit more class should be put into effect. |

I think a dress code should be implemented.I recently visited india and found all schools having a dress code upto 18 yrs of age.I think it help enforcing discipline and encourage the spirit of unity.
Schools should take action against students wearing vulgar dresses . |

Most schools do have some sort of dress code, they might not force uniforms but they do force kids to dress decently or else they will be punished.
But yes some schools are very lenient and that's not a good thing. The problem is that modern society and the media promotes this sleazy look. If you look around you'll notice that revealing clothing is everywhere for women and for men, it's the whole hip hop appeal that seems to be popular. |

As a teacher it has always amazed me what our audience looks like. The majority of people are hard working caring people but some are not. Young ladies cross their legs or uncross them and what we see is not a surprise. They chew their cud and fidget, speak in quiet and not so quiet voice. See no importance in education and only social arrangements.
I was a college teacher I can only guess what happens in the lower grades. Lets not ask them to wean uniforms, they might have to conform. So ergo no police, or soldiers, or doctors, nurses, or other positions need wear them. Better yet lets go nude then there is no question. |

I graduated from a school that wore uniforms. The school dress-code uniform was instated when the kids at school would use brand names and clothing style to represent their gang, which got them all to fight each other when someone isn't a part of them.
While having kids in uniform is effective, it certainly isn't required at all. Dress codes were established because the kids abused their freedom. As long as a school is peaceful, I don't see a need for a school dress code in that school at all. |

I think forcing kids to wear uniforms is quite dumb and not needed. Its boring to see people wearing the same thing every single day and through clothes is how many people express themselves. Sure there are kids who will represent their gang through there clothing but these kids would do that anyway or wouldnt belong to a school with a dress code.

I spent most of my years below high school in free dress forms. When they forced me into uniforms in high school, I was really ticked off about losing my freedom. Later on, I learned that where you're at requires different forms of governing because the school that required school uniforms were more violent than those that didn't. |
