I believe that the increase of HIV Aids in the world nowadays is alarming. The major cause of infection of HIV aids is through unsafe sex, and the disease is spreading everywhere in the world. Children and adults alike need to become fully educated on the effects of aids and what living with it is like.
Having speakers from organizations come to school while mandatory attendance for these sessions should be put under law. HIV AIDS should be left to the unfortunate transferral through blood, not unsafe sex or sharing needles and using drugs which we can avoid. I think that the United States needs to implement some changes and reinforce the AIDS awareness campaign more - enough about Iraq and Afghanistan, bring the problems closer to home and protect the future generations or we will all become devastated by it. |

The best way to deal with this problem is legalise prostitution. All prostitutes should get registered and get periodic checkups. And am sure this will surely help fight against HIV.Students should be made aware about it and parents sholuld discuss this topic freely with them.Use of contraceptives should be encouraged.

Well, in the US and other developed countries, most people know about STD's to a certain extent, so saying "I didn't know" is certainly not a good excuse. Though I guess education could still be improved, seeing as plenty of people still fall victim.
In third world countries however, most people don't know much about STI/STD's, so education there would be needed. |

I remember that these topics were covered fairly well, the problem is that kids are naive and often don't think they can get infected despite statistics. It's the same with pregnancy, these kids think they are in control and that unprotected sex won't cause any trouble.
I think what should be done is that all teenagers should be periodically checked for STDs. That way if someone is infected, they'll know about it and hopefully try not to infect someone else. |

Educating the masses of the problem is the best way to deal with it...head on !!!
Awareness brings about the damages of this disease to the fore and hence rightfully there is a saying... A known devil is better than an unknown one... Regards, Right |
